WHAT IS SOUL PURPOSE

What exactly is soul purpose? How are you supposed to know where or how to find it? At its most basic description, your soul’s purpose can be considered a ‘calling’ or a heartfelt desire to follow a certain path or to perform certain actions in your life. In other words, your soul purpose may be that thing you’re looking for in life to bring you satisfaction, a sense of peace and comfort, and provide you with a solid foundation upon which to lead your life.

When you know the purpose of your soul, you’re able to make a deeper connection to your life. You have the potential to experience a greater sense of contentment, and enjoy an inner knowledge and harmony that you’re doing the right thing or going in the right direction. In other words, it just feels right.

For many, there is a distinct difference between simply existing and living your life to the fullest potential. Is there something wrong with you if you don’t know your soul purpose? Not at all. It just means that you haven’t found it yet.

Do I have to know my soul purpose?

Some people just know or feel, deep inside themselves, what their soul purpose in life is. Others don’t discover it until later in life. Is knowing your soul purpose important? While it is believed that everyone is born with a soul purpose, many don’t recognize it or don’t realize they have one. You get busy with your daily life. You face challenges and obstacles and focus on providing shelter and sustenance for your family or loved ones. As you age, your soul purpose may be buried deep into your subconscious.

Knowing your soul purpose and what you’re supposed to do with your life and how you’re supposed to go about it can give you a sense of peace and greater understanding. It’s a spiritual awakening of sorts that will not only leave you deeply satisfied with your life, but open your eyes to a higher level of consciousness and a sense that you are being guided through life by a higher power.

If you don’t seek your soul purpose, you may find yourself simply navigating through life, somewhat aimlessly, with little ambition and no concrete goals to achieve. In other words, you might find yourself simply living from day-to-day. You’re existing but not really living it. You might feel somewhat disconnected from your peers, your neighbors, and your family, leading a relatively stagnant life.

Knowing your soul purpose provides you with a solid foundation in connection to the world and the universe. When you see the light of your soul purpose, you figuratively have that light to guide you on your journey.

Have patience with yourself when it comes to understanding what your purpose is in life. The search for meaning, for your existence, is not an easy one for most. It’s a question that many ask, and while you might hope that the answer will be whispered in your ear, it usually doesn’t happen that way. Every person’s journey is unique. Defining one’s soul purpose can mean different things to different people. For some, your soul purpose is defined as a specific mission that you have in life. For others it can be a life-long vocation. Regardless, your soul purpose is yours and yours alone, so resist the urge to compare yourself and your journey with others.

Be prepared to face challenges

When seeking your soul purpose, don’t put pressure on yourself to find it just because you’re looking for it right now. It doesn’t work that way. In some cases, you may even experience a deep down subconscious resistance to it out of fear. What if you fail? What if you don’t discover your soul purpose? What if your soul purpose turns out to be different than what you hope for yourself?

The key is to keep an open mind, to become more self-aware, and open to all possibilities. Trust in yourself, trust in your higher power and know that you are perfectly capable of achieving great things in life and manifesting your goals. You might find your soul purpose but not even recognize it for what it is. Your soul purpose may change or adapt depending on circumstances, and is not a physical thing that you can see or hear or touch. It’s found deep inside you.

When searching for your soul purpose, pay attention to your feelings and emotions. Explore what you feel and try to define why. Finding your soul purpose means understanding who you are, mentally, emotionally, as well as spiritually.

Your soul purpose is going to be something that you feel deeply in your heart and understand in your mind. That purpose will keep you connected to your life and help you to uncover not only who you are, but the meaning of your life.
